The installation team of 6 came and had the job done really quickly and efficient. I was surprised that many showed up but 5 hours later they were done.
The clean up was not %100 as there were some screws, metal scraps and tie wraps left over and as a dog owner I'm glad i caught this 1st before she came down to do her dog stuff.

NOTHING else was disclosed as you mentioned with your response. If we knew you would be charging 500 just for diagnostics, we would have went to another Carrier HVAC dealer to do the repairs. Charging 250$ for travel to our home is ridiculous.
No estimates were never given before and after diagnostics. Just the bill for the visit $500 for 2 hours.

2 Year old Carrier unit broke down. Took the technician a few hours to find the problem. in the end the Carrier outdoor control board and thermostat got fried. The Parts are free but the tech did not have it. Just for troubleshooting they charged $500. That is outrageous... A Doctor does not even make that amount of money for diagnostics only.
They are coming back and will charge an additional 250$ / hour charge for repairing the unit. This is highway robbery.
Last time we will be calling them for repairs.
There should be a fixed price for diagnostics instead of an hourly rate.
The other issue is that we were NEVER informed when we requested for a service call that we would be charged for this. This is not right. This business MUST inform people of the charges that will be possible in advance and not have a CARTE BLANCHE to charge for diagnostics. Diagnostics should be a simple FLAT Rate regardless of the time spent.
The tech's work was good but had to give 1 star for the excessive overcharge for diagnostics of this Carrier unit as these charges are overtly expensive just for the troubleshooting.

Than, the installation team did very professional job. They were planned the visit one month in advance so I was able to plan others renovations that I scheduled at the same period of time. During installation itself, they respected all my recommendations and requests and worked very fast and clean. I really liked it.
Finally, I had some bad experience getting the information and correct documents that I needed to get the finance for renovation project. It wasn't the good experience but finally they were able to fix it. This is the only reason I put 3 start (initially I put only 1 star just because of my frustration).
I would prefer to keep 3 stars just to make sure that their customer service remembers that client satisfaction is not only sales and installation.

Axel was back on site with the new motor and all is well. Just in time for a full check up of both Carrier systems to get them ready for winter. We are always looking forward to seeing him! He definitely brings shoe covers, to keep the wife happy.












Although there were hiccups in getting an appointment due to emergencies, the job got done.

Been with them since the 1990’s contacted them twice for servicing within the last 3 years both times were extremely frustrating. The last time involved, wrong parts, missed appointments, no call backs. It was finally resolved. This time, we called for servicing because our heat pump seems a little slow. Made a morning appointment. My husband waited all morning. No show, no call. Called them. They called back to say, they would be there in the afternoon. My husband and I then waited all afternoon. Called back before closing. No response. Left message. Instead of a call back, we get an email asking us to reschedule. My husband responded to the email and also left another message asking to reschedule - no response. That was nearly 2 weeks ago. It’s neither professional nor welcoming to treat your long time customer this way- twice

Had a confirmed appointment waited the whole day. They never showed. They stop answering phone calls at 4:00 PM. Called and another appointment to make up for the missed appointment which they say was accidentally deleted. Guaranteed me a time between 8am and 9am so I would t have to wait all day. Again, never showed up. When I called they said they said bumped me to a later time without calling and I was not available or home at that time. So how would I know ?. Gave me an appointment for the afternoon. I canceled my afternoon work and personal appointments. Then they called back and said they would technician immediately, too late though I cancelled my
other appointments. Charged me full price for 10 mis work 285$. Lost two days of work. The are a Generac subcontractor. I would never use them again. Will let Generac know about this subcontractor.
The technician himself was kind and polite. I think he was embarrassed or just felt bad. BUYER BEWARE. Imagine if I needed them for real service.
UPDATE: Received a call from the service manager who refunded have the service charge and apologized for me to lose two days waiting for them. I accept the apology however I would not risk using them again myself. When a person loses two days dues to billing error it costs the company barely anything however to a person the cost far more extensive.
I’m reference to the below. Patricia spoke with the supervisor and he overrode the policy to insure my call would be between 8-9 am due to me waiting a whole day without a phone. If you wish I can list the names and time of people I spoke with. Your statement below is incorrect in my case as it was. Escalated with approval of the supervisor. I can post the names as it appears you did not speak with them ?

We were very impressed with the service provided during the sales and installation processes and especially the attention to detail of the installation crew. It was truly a turnkey process from beginning to end. So far we are pleased with the operation of the heat pump; it is much quieter than the system it replaced and seems to maintain a more consistent temperature throughout the house as well.
All in all, we were quite happy with the choice of S&S Conversions to carry out this project.
My most recent experience was "initially" not very positive. The first diagnosis of our heat pump was not accurate, and it took 3 weeks until it was found that the entire unit had to be replaced. Living through the heat wave without A/C in July was not a pleasant experience.
Yet, once the problem was clarified, the company did the best and everything they could do to accelerate their work for improving our living condition. They responded to my request well.
So, the beginning of this event was not great, but the company compensated and responded/acted quickly afterwards to solve the problem in a professional manner.



Had some problems with the system recently (manufacturer related not s&s related), they came by promptly, no questions, made their assessments, and have scheduled me in to make all repairs and replacements per manufacturer recommendations.
Am again, pleased with install, clean and tidy, and extra appreciation towards Christina for being quick and efficient to reply, update, and her customer service all around when i had questions or concerns, as well as Kevin for going to extra distance to come by after hours to fix something to provide heat during a cold evening as the heat pump was down.
Finding a company that was not overwhelmed by her geriatric beauty (and wiring) was a chore until we contacted S&S Conversions. They were the only company that confidently gave an estimate. The representative was professional, very knowledgeable and took time to explain what our options were and answer all the questions that we had. After the consultation, we were left feeling secure.
Soon after our consultation, we had S&S Technicians in our home installing the new system. The team that functioned like a smooth-running machine; they are fast and work in a very orderly fashion. Before we knew it, our old system was out the door (may she rest in pieces), and our new Carrier system was installed in all her wonderful 21st century glory.
Overall, we had an exceptional experience from the initial consultation the installation and then follow-up. We highly recommend their service whether you are looking for a new system or a trusted Technician.
Your technician came over within an hour of my initial call. Our air-conditioning system was not working and on a day reaching over 30 degrees, this was a crucial situation. The technician was very pleasant, polite and knew exactly what the issue was, and fixed it very quickly. He even checked our forced air heating system while he was here. Job well done!

the installation team did a good job except for some of the drywall holes they had to make they didn't completely clean up everything





The heating was meant to be repaired in the winter and some parts needed to be ordered. We heard nothing from them and when summer came around the cooling system failed. When I called them to get the cooling repaired they arrived and repaired the HEATING system (gee thanks). They then told us the part for the cooling system did not exist in Canada and needed to be ordered from the US and « we have no idea when it will get here ». We called at least once a month asking for updates and they said the part is arriving but we still don’t know when. Finally I called again today and as it turns out the manufacturer doesn’t make them anymore and it will need to be specifically made which will take another unknown amount of time and surprise... nobody bothered to tell us this.
They have honestly been giving us the runaround for at least a year now. My elderly grandmother is in her 90s and has been living in a house with no heating system all winter and no cooling system all summer. I normally never write reviews like this but the way this company has treated us, kept us hanging and kept us in the dark is shameful.
The installation was scheduled a month ahead, which was honestly one of the soonest times we were quoted by a few different operations. We needed it sooner, but it seems many people are replacing their systems right now.
The team arrived on time, and in a convoy, there must have been at least a dozen workers that showed up. They quickly disassembled and got rid of the old system and patching what needed to be patched, and then got to work installing the new one. They were careful around the house, wore masks and made sure we were kept in the loop for the installation placements, etc. All the employees were polite, respectful and worked hard. The installation went very smoothly and they made sure to respond to all of our questions and concerns as they arose (placement of unit, etc.). All in all it was a really good experience overall and I cannot recommend these guys more firmly for that; they were experienced and knew what they were doing and it made us feel very relieved.
I knocked a star off because there are major credits that the government is offering when you replace your system and I had to do all of the work to find the info, and figure out how to do it. In fact I would not even have known about it had I not been told this by another company rep.
There were several companies I spoke with during the process who were upfront about it and were more than willing to assist in the process of making the claim and having everything needed for it. For such a large expense I feel like this should be done with the sales team and the client directly when initially purchasing the item and then after the install is complete to make sure it gets done.

There were a couple very small details that likely wouldn't bother most people: the angle of the drainage pipe from the indoor unit was incorrectly angled, meaning there would be standing water left in the drainage pipe, and the panel covering the furnace filter wasn't well put on and was difficult to manipulate. Please note that I am positive the company would have come to correct these 2 very minor details, but we decided not to bother them, as my partner was able to correct these.
Of note: The system was calibrated to the factory settings. Our house is old and has old duct work, so the factory settings weren't adequate to cool the upstairs. My partner was able to go to the control panel to change the settings, which was well explained in the manuals.
My partner requested additional rubber under the center of the electric unit (to help support it), and on the heat pump stand (to decrease vibrations and therefore noise). The technicians gladly did this.
I had an issue at the end with the sales person, and the company was able to address that issue in a timely and professional manner, which I appreciated.
Last note: If you are applying for government grant programs, make sure to ask for the required information on the invoice.
In summary: I researched many companies prior to having this work done, and am happy that I chose S&S. I am, so far, very satisfied with the installation, service and products.

The technician was excellent, polite and very personal. Every time we deal with S&S Conversions we are very pleased. I highly recommend dealing with S&S.


A week later the same technician arrived to install the new part. He was efficient & pleasant to deal with.
Since this was the hottest & most humid time of the year, we appreciated the prompt service.

It was truly a turnkey process from beginning to end. So far we are pleased with the operation of the heat pump; it is much quieter than the system it replaced and seems to maintain a more consistent temperature throughout the house as well.
All in all, we were quite happy with the choice of S&S Conversions to carry out this project.
My most recent experience was "initially" not very positive. The first diagnosis of our heat pump was not accurate, and it took 3 weeks until it was found that the entire unit had to be replaced. Living through the heat wave without A/C in July was not a pleasant experience.
Yet, once the problem was clarified, the company did the best and everything they could do to accelerate their work for improving our living condition. They responded to my request well.
So, the beginning of this event was not great, but the company compensated and responded/acted quickly afterwards to solve the problem in a professional manner.



Had some problems with the system recently (manufacturer related not s&s related), they came by promptly, no questions, made their assessments, and have scheduled me in to make all repairs and replacements per manufacturer recommendations.
Am again, pleased with install, clean and tidy, and extra appreciation towards Christina for being quick and efficient to reply, update, and her customer service all around when i had questions or concerns, as well as Kevin for going to extra distance to come by after hours to fix something to provide heat during a cold evening as the heat pump was down.
Finding a company that was not overwhelmed by her geriatric beauty (and wiring) was a chore until we contacted S&S Conversions. They were the only company that confidently gave an estimate. The representative was professional, very knowledgeable and took time to explain what our options were and answer all the questions that we had. After the consultation, we were left feeling secure.
Soon after our consultation, we had S&S Technicians in our home installing the new system. The team that functioned like a smooth-running machine; they are fast and work in a very orderly fashion. Before we knew it, our old system was out the door (may she rest in pieces), and our new Carrier system was installed in all her wonderful 21st century glory.
Overall, we had an exceptional experience from the initial consultation the installation and then follow-up. We highly recommend their service whether you are looking for a new system or a trusted Technician.
Your technician came over within an hour of my initial call. Our air-conditioning system was not working and on a day reaching over 30 degrees, this was a crucial situation. The technician was very pleasant, polite and knew exactly what the issue was, and fixed it very quickly. He even checked our forced air heating system while he was here. Job well done!

The heating was meant to be repaired in the winter and some parts needed to be ordered. We heard nothing from them and when summer came around the cooling system failed. When I called them to get the cooling repaired they arrived and repaired the HEATING system (gee thanks). They then told us the part for the cooling system did not exist in Canada and needed to be ordered from the US and « we have no idea when it will get here ». We called at least once a month asking for updates and they said the part is arriving but we still don’t know when. Finally I called again today and as it turns out the manufacturer doesn’t make them anymore and it will need to be specifically made which will take another unknown amount of time and surprise... nobody bothered to tell us this.
They have honestly been giving us the runaround for at least a year now. My elderly grandmother is in her 90s and has been living in a house with no heating system all winter and no cooling system all summer. I normally never write reviews like this but the way this company has treated us, kept us hanging and kept us in the dark is shameful.
The installation was scheduled a month ahead, which was honestly one of the soonest times we were quoted by a few different operations. We needed it sooner, but it seems many people are replacing their systems right now.
The team arrived on time, and in a convoy, there must have been at least a dozen workers that showed up. They quickly disassembled and got rid of the old system and patching what needed to be patched, and then got to work installing the new one. They were careful around the house, wore masks and made sure we were kept in the loop for the installation placements, etc. All the employees were polite, respectful and worked hard. The installation went very smoothly and they made sure to respond to all of our questions and concerns as they arose (placement of unit, etc.). All in all it was a really good experience overall and I cannot recommend these guys more firmly for that; they were experienced and knew what they were doing and it made us feel very relieved.
I knocked a star off because there are major credits that the government is offering when you replace your system and I had to do all of the work to find the info, and figure out how to do it. In fact I would not even have known about it had I not been told this by another company rep.
There were several companies I spoke with during the process who were upfront about it and were more than willing to assist in the process of making the claim and having everything needed for it. For such a large expense I feel like this should be done with the sales team and the client directly when initially purchasing the item and then after the install is complete to make sure it gets done.

There were a couple very small details that likely wouldn't bother most people: the angle of the drainage pipe from the indoor unit was incorrectly angled, meaning there would be standing water left in the drainage pipe, and the panel covering the furnace filter wasn't well put on and was difficult to manipulate. Please note that I am positive the company would have come to correct these 2 very minor details, but we decided not to bother them, as my partner was able to correct these.
Of note: The system was calibrated to the factory settings. Our house is old and has old duct work, so the factory settings weren't adequate to cool the upstairs. My partner was able to go to the control panel to change the settings, which was well explained in the manuals.
My partner requested additional rubber under the center of the electric unit (to help support it), and on the heat pump stand (to decrease vibrations and therefore noise). The technicians gladly did this.
I had an issue at the end with the sales person, and the company was able to address that issue in a timely and professional manner, which I appreciated.
Last note: If you are applying for government grant programs, make sure to ask for the required information on the invoice.
In summary: I researched many companies prior to having this work done, and am happy that I chose S&S. I am, so far, very satisfied with the installation, service and products.

The technician was excellent, polite and very personal. Every time we deal with S&S Conversions we are very pleased. I highly recommend dealing with S&S.


A week later the same technician arrived to install the new part. He was efficient & pleasant to deal with.
Since this was the hottest & most humid time of the year, we appreciated the prompt service.
